The Up With People International Alumni Association Board of Governors proudly introduces a new initiative:

Our shared history is replete with songs and lyrics nudging, encouraging, and sometimes imploring audiences to get outside themselves and engage in the world in a constructive way to break down barriers that separate nations and cultures. As Up With People participants, we “walked the talk.” Today, our history continues to call to us, as alumni, to engage in our communities, our nation, and around the world.

We have Campers from 12 countries attending so far and hope to have more by the time Camp starts. We have two sessions: July 1-21, and July 22-August 11. We’ve decided to extend our age range this summer, so the camp will be for those aged 13 to 17.

For Our May Contest – it’s Fiesta Time! Have a FIESTA at Reunion 2012 at the beautiful Westin La Paloma in Tucson, Arizona. It’s time to find those Cast mates that said they were coming to the Reunion and have not yet registered. Email them, text them, facebook them, call them, heck even write them a letter and mail it to them. If you live close enough, stop by with a personal visit. If your Cast is able to get the most new registrants to Reunion 2012 in May, we will help you Celebrate with fixins and a spot for a FIESTA at Reunion 2012. Of course there are rules and regulations, check the fine print below. Rules & Regulations One (1) FIESTA package will be awarded to the Cast Rep of the Cast that purchases the most registrations to Reunion 2012 (minimum 15) during the month of May 2012. Registrations purchased by members of the same travelling cast between May 1, 2012 12:01 am est through 11:59 pm est May 31, 2012. These registrations must be purchased by members of the same traveling Cast for any family member planning to attend Reunion 2012. Child registrations age 0-5 do not count as there is no cost for them to attend the Reunion. Cast Reps will receive the award of the FIESTA during Reunion 2012. In the event a Cast Rep is unable to attend Reunion 2012, they may assign this upgrade to another member of their Cast that will coordinate the FIESTA. A maximum of 1 FIESTA will be awarded for Reunion 2012. There is no cash value in lieu of the FIESTA.

Up with People to Perform a Sneak Preview of our New Show at Denver Gala Event This spring, Up with People is being honored in Denver, our home for nearly 20 years, as a stand-out nonprofit organization making a difference here and around the world. On Saturday, May 12, My Favorite Non-Profit, LLC will host its Gala Night to benefit Up with People. They will welcome community leaders and philanthropists from across the city for a night of dining, auctions and live entertainment. Proceeds will directly benefit Up with People and our Global Scholarship Fund.
Due date for nominations: May 15, 2012 Each year at reunion, the UWPIAA recognizes alumni who continue to embrace the mission of Up with People in their everyday lives in a special way. Nominees can include anyone who participated in any capacity of the UWP program since its inception in the summer of 1965. |
